Fog device subsidy scheme

Updated 29 May 2023

As part of the Government’s efforts to combat retail crime, a subsidy of up to $4,000 is being offered to small retail businesses to install fog devices.

Fog cannons, also known as security smoke generators, are a type of security device that have rapidly gained popularity in recent years. They work by emitting a dense fog that makes it impossible for intruders to see and move around in the protected area, which effectively disorients them and limits their ability to steal or damage anything.
